Deadline : Submission Vs Certification

Hi,
Here are few questions before me:

1. Will every submission done timely on or before a submission deadline undergo a certification process with a guarantee before certification deadline? I am asking this to avoid a situation wherein participant submits on or before a submission deadline but becomes ineligible as his/her submission is not even processed for certification before a certification deadline.(e.g. perhaps certification team getting busy with too many submission to proceed before 17th Jan.)

2. Is it allowed to work on any possible correction for certification in between submission deadline and certification deadline? In other words; if one would be eligible if he submits before 10th of Jan, then works on certification correction in between 10 to 17 Jan and finally succeeds in getting a certification before 17th.

Thanks & Regards,
Kaustubh.

    Hey Kaustubh,

Good questions. There is no guarantee that your skill will pass certification between Jan. 10 and Jan. 17th, BUT the certification team knows about the deadline and will certainly work as hard as possible to give everyone the best chance. We still recommend submitting for certification early to be on the safe side for this exact reason.

You can make small changes to your skill during that week to pass certification (bug fixes, name changes, etc.), but no major skill functionality changes are allowed. You won't be able to update the Devpost submission after Jan. 10th at 5pm EST.

Ok. So it seems plausible that certification team will proceed in that period, though certification can't be guaranteed..Got my answer. Thanks Stefanie!

Hi In continuation of above question, what if the certification is complete before Jan 10th? Is that fine ? or it must be certified between Jan 10th to 17th?

Hey! You can definitely get certified before the 17th. Early is good! :)

Also, it is mentioned that skill should be certified and publicly available on the skill store during certification period. There is another mention that once skill gets certified, a mail will be sent regarding when it is going to publish. So, can there be an incidence of certification before 17 but publishing of skill after 17 (because publishing is out of participant's control). Will such case make participant ineligible? Thanks!

I don't know if that is a possibility, but we will track certification using your skill IDs. That's what we will use to determine who was certified by the 17th!

    Best,
    Stefanie
